CAN 2025: You are (very) under surveillance

With the massive influx of supporters and the participation of 24 teams, the Moroccan police are leaving no room for improvisation for the tournament to be held from December 21 to January 18. The DGSN has unveiled a large-scale technological action plan, marked by the deployment of 6,000 mobile cameras connected to management platforms. This digital network covers 75 priority sites as well as the strategic road axes connecting the host cities, in particular the Rabat-Casablanca, Marrakech-Agadir and Fès-Tangier corridors.

Surveillance is also invited to the heart of sports facilities. Each stadium hosting the matches has been equipped with a police station and a command center to coordinate interventions in real time and ensure strict enforcement of the law in the event of any disturbances. On the ground, the system is reinforced by new anti-gang brigades in Marrakech and Fès, canine units, mounted police and no less than 16 drone teams tasked with monitoring sensitive areas from the sky.

Beyond maintaining public order, the DGSN is involved in the integrity of the sport through an unprecedented agreement signed with the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency. This partnership aims to unify investigative efforts to track the use of illicit substances during the competitions that will take place in the stadiums of Rabat, Agadir, Fès, Marrakech, Casablanca and Tangier.
