Morocco has applied to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, after Guinea’s withdrawal. Patrice Motsepe, president of the African Football Confederation (CAF), says he "welcomes" this candidacy.
The head of African football is in Morocco to attend the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League which will pit AS FAR against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on Sunday in Rabat.
When questioned at Rabat-Salé airport about Morocco’s request to host the 2025 edition of the CAN, Patrice Motsepe said he was "enthusiastic" to receive the applications from the countries interested in hosting the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025, stating that he "welcomes" Morocco’s submission of its application and that the objective is "to organize the best competition in Africa".
