Morocco Prepares Bid to Host 2025 Africa Cup of Nations After Guinea Loses Rights

Following the announcement of the withdrawal of the organization of the 2025 CAN from Guinea, Morocco could host the competition. The kingdom intends to submit its candidacy to CAF, which is currently looking for a new host country for this edition.
Sources within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) claim that the authorities are preparing to file Morocco’s candidacy file to replace Guinea.
The decision to withdraw the organization of this competition from Guinea was taken on Friday by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which had estimated that "in the current state, the infrastructure and equipment are not suitable or ready" for the country to host the CAN in 2025.
At a press conference held on the occasion, Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF, had indicated that the body would reopen the call for applications for the hosting of the continental competition in 2025.
