CAF Boosts Prize Money for African Nations Championship Winner

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to increase the financial endowment for the winner of the CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, in which Morocco will participate.
Good news for countries including Morocco, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria who will participate in the next CHAN 2024 to be held from February 1, 2025 to February 28, 2025 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The financial endowment for the winner of the competition has been increased by 75%. The winner of this edition will receive $3.5 million (about 36 million dirhams). CAF has also increased the CHAN endowment by 32%, to reach $10.4 million.
"CHAN is an important competition for the development and growth of football players based in Africa and will contribute significantly to the global competitiveness of African football and CAF competitions. This competition is part of our investment strategy in African football and making it attractive to football fans, viewers, sponsors, partners and other stakeholders in Africa and around the world," said Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF.
It should be noted that the CHAN draw will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on January 15.
