CAF Announces Dates for Morocco-Hosted CHAN 2025 and WAFCON 2024 Tournaments

It’s official! The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled on Friday evening the dates of the CHAN 2025 and the WAFCON 2024, both of which will be held in Morocco.
The CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 will open on Sunday, December 21, 2025 and end on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Morocco did not ultimately prevail, as it had wished for this edition to take place in July for fear of bad weather in December.
Morocco will also host the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2024, from Saturday, July 5 to Saturday, July 26, 2025. In the last edition, which was also held in Morocco, the Atlas Lionesses reached the final but were beaten 2-1 by South Africa.
"I am convinced that the CHAN Morocco 2025 will be a huge success and will remain engraved in the annals as the best edition in history. As for the WAFCON Morocco 2024, I am convinced that it will experience an unprecedented popular enthusiasm," said CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), for his part highlighted the crucial role of Morocco in the organization of these competitions: "Morocco is ready to welcome Africa and the whole world for these two major events. We will do everything to offer the players, the supporters and all the actors of African football exceptional hosting conditions."
