Morocco will host the biggest football competitions by 2030

Morocco is preparing to host a series of major football events in the coming years. This was announced by Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate to the Budget, during a session at the House of Representatives dedicated to the 2025 Finance Bill.
On the program of this busy calendar: the 2025 African Cup of Nations for men, five editions of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup starting in 2025, the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2024, the 2026 African Cup of Nations for women, the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup, the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup and, the cherry on the cake, the 2030 World Cup.
To succeed in this ambitious bet, the minister called for a general mobilization. "Everyone is called upon to project a positive image and contribute to the successful organization of these major events," he insisted.
Fouzi Lekjaa was reassuring about the infrastructure necessary to host these competitions. Stadiums, high-speed train to Agadir, airport expansions... the projects are "on the right track" according to him.
