Briton Vanishes in Morocco: Family's Desperate Search Intensifies

A 53-year-old Briton who came to settle permanently in Morocco has been missing since September 20, 2025. Calls for help have been launched to find him.

Peter Forrest, originally from Old Swan (Liverpool), flew alone to Marrakech on September 5, with the intention of settling permanently in Morocco. Since September 20, he has not given any sign of life. His last Facebook post dates back to September 14. "He left for Morocco on September 5 and we haven’t heard from him since September 20; no one has spoken to him since. Usually, he calls me, or calls his mother or his son, but we haven’t received anything," worries his niece Olivia Barton, 23, to the Liverpool Echo. "We are all very worried. It’s not like him not to give news."

The Merseyside police have confirmed that they received a missing person report on September 26. Olivia and her family have launched appeals for help on social media. They describe the fifty-year-old as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes. "We are spreading the appeal in case someone has spoken to him without our knowledge. We just want to know if he’s okay," added his niece. Anyone who may have information is invited to contact the Merseyside police via 101 or @MerPolCC. In addition to the appeal for help, the family has filed a report with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
