Missing for ten years and considered dead by his family, Hicham, a 42-year-old Moroccan journalist, has been found in the Cassino region of Italy.

The Public Prosecutor Carlo Fucci, the Mayor of Villa Santa, Lucia Orazio Capraro, and the Consul General of Morocco in Italy, Souad Souleimani, visited Hicham, who was admitted to the psychiatric ward of the Santa Scolastica hospital in Cassino. The 42-year-old Moroccan journalist is receiving medical and legal support provided by the Cassino prosecutor’s office to ensure the necessary care and protection.

The Moroccan diplomat was able to speak with Hicham at the hospital, expressing the moral support and solidarity of the Moroccan authorities. During her discussions with Prosecutor Fucci and Mayor Capraro, Souad Souleimani expressed her gratitude to the Italian authorities for the assistance provided to the Moroccan national, commending the cooperation between the institutions of the two countries. The discussions also covered the modalities of assistance and the protection network established locally to support Hicham.

"Today, we have participated in a significant event," said Prosecutor Fucci. "Thanks to the collaboration between local and international authorities, we have succeeded in restoring dignity and hope to a person who, for too long, has lived in the shadow of loneliness and uncertainty," he added. The Consul particularly thanked Mayor Capraro for her commitment to setting up a support administration for Hicham, highlighting the availability of local institutions to protect this Moroccan citizen.
