Royal Cousins’ Double Wedding: Moroccan King Presides Over Intimate Ceremony
King Mohammed VI presided over the ceremony of the double wedding of his cousins, Faïza and Hajar, the daughters of Prince Moulay Hicham, in Rabat. The event was held in a strictly private setting, in the presence of a small circle of family members and close friends.
It was Prince Moulay Hicham himself who shared the news on his Facebook account, in a post that generated many comments. He expressed his great joy, writing in particular: "Yesterday, Malika and I bid farewell to our daughters as they entered married life. We are delighted that they have married such wonderful men, with whom we already feel a close bond."
The prince also specified that the ceremony included a traditional dowry ceremony (Sadak) and indicated that he would leave it to his daughters to share the photos of the event themselves. "I will leave it to Faïza and Hajar to choose the photos they wish to share and to tell, in their own words, the story of this joyful event in the coming days," he added.
