Borussia Dortmund’s Achraf Hakimi Erupts in Anger After Early Substitution

The sporting director of Borussia Dortmund justified the big anger of the Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi, after his substitution in the 64th minute, last Saturday during his club’s trip.
The Moroccan player reacted violently, on Saturday, February 1, during Borussia Dortmund’s trip to Union Berlin (5-0). This big outburst of anger occurred after his coach demanded his replacement in the 64th minute.
To express his displeasure, the Moroccan player angrily threw the yellow armband on the pitch, after the exchange with Thorgan Hazard (70th). Like Hakimi, BVB captain Marco Reus also made himself heard during the match. As for the former Real Madrid player, he threw a water bottle in the 64th minute, after being replaced by Dan-Axel Zagadou.
While the German press has strongly criticized the players’ behavior, the sporting director has defended his protégés. According to Michael Zorc, this behavior of the players is not a bad thing. But he believes it should not happen every week.
For the Borussen coach, the boys want to play as much as possible and each of them is fighting for his place. "The competition is strong, we have a solid team. You have to accept it," said Lucien Favre.
