Bollywood Star Nora Fatehi Faces New Questioning in High-Profile Extortion Case

Cited in a money laundering and economic crimes case linked to Indian scammer Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Moroccan-Canadian actress and producer Nora Fatehi was questioned again by the Indian financial crime agency on Thursday.
This is not the first time the singer, producer, model and Moroccan-Canadian actress has been questioned by the Delhi police in this extortion and money laundering case that seems to have splashed many Bollywood stars. For this new interrogation, Nora Fatehi will be confronted with Pinky Irani, the one who introduced her to Sukesh Chandrashekhar. "They will first be questioned separately, then confronted and questioned together," said PTI citing a police officer.
On Wednesday, Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez was also questioned for the same case. Confrontation remains fundamental, according to the police who point out some contradictions in the depositions of the actresses and Pinky Irani, who is a close collaborator of Sukesh Chandrashekhar. "There are some contradictions in the statements made by Irani. So it is important that we confront Irani and Nora together. In addition, Irani is suspected of having played a key role so it is important that we ask the unanswered questions and seek clarification," said one of the investigators.
From Nora Fatehi’s previous statements on September 13 and October 21, like many Bollywood actors and actresses, she received luxury cars and gifts from Sukesh and his wife, actress Leena, she stressed that she was unaware that she was dealing with people from the criminal milieu. But for the police, all this remains to be proven. "Nora Fatehi says she didn’t know the event she was invited to in Chennai was linked to this crime syndicate. But we’ll have to see how the car and gifts she received were used. We’ll only come to a conclusion with a proper investigation," they say.
