Bangladesh Cancels Nora Fatehi Show Amid Economic Austerity Measures

Moroccan-Canadian actress and producer Nora Fatehi was forced to cancel a show in Bangladesh due to the authorities’ refusal of authorization, citing the austerity measures in place in the country.
While the Moroccan was invited to perform at the Women Leadership Corporation in Dhaka, the government of Bangladesh refused and canceled the show. To justify its decision, the authorities relied on the austerity measures imposed by the financial institutions. In reality, the Bollywood actress did not obtain authorization "in view of the global situation and in order to maintain foreign exchange reserves," it is explained.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Nora Fatehi had not obtained authorization in order to maintain foreign exchange reserves, given the current global situation. By coming to the event, the actress was not only to perform on stage, but also to present awards as the guest of honor.
It should be noted that the Moroccan is very famous in Bangladesh. She is highly appreciated for her dancing skills, especially belly dancing. From "Kamariya" to "Dilbar" and "Saaki Saaki", her songs have achieved immense success throughout Asia.
