Body of Missing Moroccan Man Found in Spanish Irrigation Ditch

Police services made a macabre discovery on Monday morning in the municipality of Molina de Segura, in the Murcia region. The highly decomposed body of a 45-year-old Moroccan man was found at the bottom of an irrigation ditch.
The incident had been reported by the owner of an agricultural farm who would have discovered the corpse while carrying out a cleaning operation near the basin, according to local media reports. The extraction of the body took place in the presence of a forensic doctor and investigators.
According to the latter, the body would be that of a homeless person, of Moroccan origin, who had been frequenting the region for many years. Sought after for some time, the 45-year-old man had been reported missing.
Pending the results of the autopsy ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, a judicial investigation has been opened by the police services to determine the exact circumstances of the death.
