Body of Migrant Washes Ashore in Tangier, Revealing Dangers of Mediterranean Crossing

It was with astonishment and horror that people who were on the Malabata beach in Tangier discovered the body of a sub-Saharan migrant rejected by the ocean. They then alerted the authorities.
The deceased would have tried to cross to Europe in a makeshift boat with other illegal migrants and had been missing for a few days. One of his friends is said to have confirmed his identity, according to the Tanja24 website.
He would have tried the crossing from the Rmilate beach, in Tangier, on board an inflatable boat. His body was found this Saturday and it would reveal a multitude of bites, which, according to the same source, means that he remained in the sea for a long time.
The body was taken to the morgue in order to determine the exact causes of his death and to confirm the information about his identity that was given, according to Tanja24, who cites his own sources, by one of his friends.
