Benfica Star Adel Taarabt Reflects on Career Missteps, Unfulfilled Potential

Adel Taarabt has made his mea culpa. He acknowledges the mistakes he made throughout his career, which could have been even more brilliant.
At 30 years old, the Atlas Lion is still super active and reveals his talent within his Portuguese club, Benfica. However, he acknowledges that given his talent, he could have been among the best players in the world if his career had not been tainted by his multiple problems with the clubs where he was recruited. These problems are mainly due to his impulsive temperament and a certain lack of discernment.
In an interview broadcast on his Instagram account, Taarabt admits that he has not harmed anyone and that he is solely responsible for his past actions.
Optimistic and confident about the future, the Moroccan international is amazed by his performances, despite the weight of age. "I didn’t think my body would respond to the required efforts. I don’t feel like I’m 30 years old. The change in my playing style, the role assigned to me on the field, and especially my ability to run between 12 and 13 km per match, impress me," proudly noted the former RC Lens trainee.
Well integrated into Benfica’s squad, the native of Taza says he is happy in this great Portuguese club and hopes to win the double with it. Even though he has an impolite behavior, the Benfica member has shone brightly at Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers, Fulham, AC Milan, Genoa.
