Benfica Seeks Buyer for Moroccan Midfielder Adel Taarabt Before Contract Expires

Benfica Lisbon wants to get rid of its midfielder, Moroccan international Adel Taarabt. The Portuguese club is just waiting for an acceptable offer.
Benfica Lisbon would be ready to "sell" Adel Taarabt, whose contract runs until 2023, reports the Portuguese sports daily Record. The Portuguese club hopes to receive an acceptable offer to let the Moroccan international leave. After signing a five-year contract with the club in 2015, the Atlas Lion has played with Benfica’s B team between 2016 and 2019. He was loaned out in January 2017 to Genoa FC, Fulham, AC Milan and the English club Queens Park Rangers before returning to Benfica Lisbon.
Last August, the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation suspended Adel Taarabt for 23 days and two matches, following an altercation with Edouardo, Braga’s goalkeeping coach, during the Portuguese Cup final between Benfica Lisbon and the Guerreiros do Minho.
