Beloved Sète Local Figure Hakim Dies at 46, City Mourns ’Smiling Legend’

Sète is in mourning. Hakim, 46, a well-known figure in the city, was the victim of a cerebral hemorrhage on Christmas Eve and died. The city thus loses a "bon vivant, a good guy always smiling". After this man from the Thau Island, the tributes multiply on social networks. Hakim is known to have played for the FC Sète when he was younger. In 1993, his life changed following a tragic motorcycle accident. "He was in a coma for 9 months, recalls his brother Hassan, to Midi Libre. The doctors wanted to unplug him, but my father refused. And nine months later, he opened his eyes, started walking again. He’s a nice guy, he didn’t bother anyone, he was always calm and smiling, always happy when he saw children."

Hakim’s funeral will take place tomorrow in Morocco, where his body will be repatriated.
