Belgian Students Spark Outrage with Controversial Islamic-Themed Costumes

A costume that does not pass the eyes of many people on social media. Students from a Catholic school in Melle, East Flanders, are at the center of a controversy that is hard to die down.
According to the Belgian media, including the RTBF channel, the senior classes chose the theme of Islam for their costume this year. Unfortunately, the choice of costumes is hard to accept, or at least as the channel writes "the behavior of the students".
Thus, in a video posted on social media, we see the students performing the Muslim prayer, some equipped with an explosive belt, "in reference to terrorism".
"A mixture of amalgams, stereotypes and racism. This is clearly Islamophobia. We mix everything and laugh. I can’t even imagine the impact of this scene on all the students, I don’t know if there are Muslims in this school, but I would have felt very uncomfortable anyway," writes an Internet user on Facebook, quoted by RTBF.
For the director of the college, no intention to provoke. "There was no intention to provoke or hurt anyone. It must be seen in the atmosphere of the 100-day celebration." We are not convinced, and you?
