Belgian Customs Officer Suspended Over Controversial YouTube Videos

The Federal Public Service Finances has suspended a Belgian customs officer, who has been in office for a week, for posting anti-Muslim, homophobic and conspiracy videos on YouTube.
He defines himself as an "independent Christian preacher". With his Youtube channel, he shares sermons and exegeses of the Bible, reports RTBF. However, one of the videos of the newly recruited customs officer was the origin of the opening of an internal file by his superiors at the federal public service.
It is a video made in September 2016, just after the attacks in Paris and Brussels. In this video, the preacher addresses the Muslims of France, Belgium and Molenbeek. He strongly criticizes Islam, engages in proselytism and calls on Muslims to convert to Christianity.
"It is clear that the Apostle Paul warned us 700 years in advance of the advent of false prophets. The Quran teaches another Gospel, a false Gospel. This proves that it is a fake!" he declares. According to the preacher, "Islam promotes and excuses pedophilia. "Mohamed himself was a pedophile. It’s absolutely disgusting and repulsive; a prophet of God cannot be a pedophile," he argues.
For him, a person "can only become sexually deviant by rejecting God [...] to the point that God has no more hope for them and grants them the status of reprobate. [...] This proves incidentally that there are no pedophiles or homosexuals in paradise." On his Youtube account, the preacher has also shared conspiracy videos to question the official version of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
"In view of the new facts that the FPS Finances has become aware of, relating to the past of the person concerned, facts that are contrary to the dignity and neutrality expected of a federal civil servant, the FPS Finances has decided to suspend the agent until further notice. Possible disciplinary consequences are under study," the ministry spokesman said.
