Beachgoers Help Capture Drug Smugglers in Spanish Coast Bust, 700kg Hashish Seized

The Civil Guard, thanks to strong citizen collaboration, proceeded to arrest two men, suspected drug traffickers, in Granada. In total, more than 700 kilos of Moroccan hashish were seized.
The traffickers, coming from Morocco on a small fishing boat, were being chased by a ship from the maritime section of the Civil Guard. They managed to reach the shore and continued their race on foot on the Mecilena beach before being trapped by bathers, one of whom, a sergeant of the Civil Guard, was able to apprehend one of the traffickers. As for the second trafficker, he escaped the crowd, but was also arrested a few minutes later.

In a video, we can see the courage of these bathers and how the sergeant managed to trip up one of the traffickers and arrest him with the help of the other bathers. One of the bathers, however, drew attention to the risk they had taken in acting this way because they could have been shot at. The Civil Guard agents, who arrived later on the scene, took over the situation.
