Bayern’s Tuchel Praises Mazraoui Amid Right-Back Competition

Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has been lavish in his praise of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui who had in the meantime demanded more playing time.
"We have a lot of right-backs on paper. Pavard also plays very well as a central defender. Mazraoui is a very good right-back who sometimes gives his opinion, but that’s okay. He’s a very good player. Pavard has expressed his desire to leave. It’s known. We’ll see," Thomas Tuchel said on Saturday at a press conference in which he discussed the preparation for the new season, the summer transfer window and departures.
Relegated behind Benjamin Pavard, Joao Cancelo in the hierarchy at the right-back position at Bayern Munich, the Moroccan international had demanded more playing time. "If you look at the second half of the season, I only play when there are injuries. I tell everyone at the club, the coach and the staff: if you need me, I’m ready," the Atlas Lion, who was a starter and provided an assist against Werder Bremen (2-1) in the Bundesliga, had assured in the mixed zone.
Arrived at Bayern last summer from Ajax Amsterdam, the 25-year-old scored one goal and provided four assists in 26 appearances last season. These performances largely contributed to Bayern’s 11th consecutive Bundesliga title, reported Bild.
