Bayern Munich’s Mazraoui Reveals Ambition to Become Imam, Memorize Quran

In an interview, Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui who plays as a right-back at Bayern Munich has confided in his new dream.
"I have decided to memorize the Quran. I want to understand it to apply it in my life and share it with my colleagues. Ultimately, I want to become an imam," Noussair Mazraoui said in an interview with the Dutch YouTube channel « Minuut Voor Allah » (Minute for God, editor’s note). He also said that he started reading the Quran six months ago. "After the World Cup final (Qatar 2022), I decided to memorize the Quran by heart, and during prayer, I would read some of the surahs I had memorized, because that was all I knew. It made me ashamed, after which I decided to move forward and memorize the Quran by heart."

During the show, he recited Surah Ad-Duha. He also mentioned the Umrah and the sensations he had when performing it. "When I performed the Umrah, I felt like I was out of this world," he said.
