Bayern Munich Edges Out Arsenal, Barcelona in Race to Sign Ajax Star Mazraoui

While Arsenal and FC Barcelona fail in their attempt to recruit Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui, Bayern Munich is in pole position to have the Ajax star in its squad.
According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich has stolen a march on Arsenal and Barça in the race to sign Noussair Mazraoui, whose contract with Ajax expires next month. He also said that an agreement should be signed in the coming weeks. Bayern "wants the contract to be signed as soon as possible to avoid any potential offers from other clubs," the Italian journalist wrote on his Twitter account.
The interest of several European clubs in the Moroccan international is explained by the player’s performances. The 24-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 135 matches. The Moroccan winger has contributed to Ajax’s success this season under coach Erik ten Hag. He helped the club in its quest for a title in the Eredivisie - and Ajax is leading with a four-point lead. The Dutch club also reached the final of the Dutch Cup, but was beaten by PSV Eindhoven (2-1).
