Bayern Munich Nears Deal for Ajax Star Mazraoui, Outbidding Barcelona and Roma
Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champion, is in pole position to secure the services of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui. Leeds and Arsenal have not yet been able to make an attractive offer to the Ajax star.
Bayern Munich is "very close" to reaching an agreement, after having outbid FC Barcelona and Roma by making a substantial offer to Noussair Mazraoui who will be free of any commitment at the end of his contract with Ajax in June. The German club says it is ready to double Barça’s proposal (salary of 4 to 5 million euros per season).
"If you can survive in the Champions League with Ajax, you can do the same in the Bundesliga," Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag told Sport1 when asked about the potential transfer of the Moroccan winger to the Allianz Arena. "I’m sure the two guys (Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch) could perform well in the Bundesliga."
