Barcelona Targets Moroccan Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat for Summer Transfer

The Moroccan midfielder of Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat, has become the priority of FC Barcelona to strengthen the central defense for the next season. The player, whose contract with Fiorentina runs until 2024, is ready to force his departure to join the ranks of Barça.
Despite several attempts by Barça to secure Amrabat’s services as early as last January, Fiorentina refused to let their player go. But this summer, the Blaugrana club intends to come back to the charge, especially since the Moroccan’s contract will expire in a year, which could allow Barça to acquire him at a reduced price, or even for free.
The profile of the Moroccan seduces the Barcelona technicians, who appreciate his power and defensive strength as much as his potential with the ball and his ability to create links with his teammates. The Moroccan could thus form a complementary duo with Frenkie de Jong, bringing a balance between talent and combativeness on the field.
Moreover, Amrabat’s arrival would not call into question the presence of Sergio Busquets within the team. Coach Xavi has already expressed his desire to keep the Barcelona captain in his tactical plans for the coming season.
