Barcelona Eyes Amrabat for Midfield Boost, Sets €25M Limit

As the end of the season approaches, FC Barcelona is already looking for reinforcements for next year. As in the winter transfer window, it has set its sights on Sofyan Amrabat, but not at any price.
Xavi Hernandez wants a midfielder with a physical profile that will allow him to have a solid defense for high-level Champions League matches. His first choice was Martín Zubimendi, but Barça had to abandon this option due to the high price of the Real Sociedad player. Amrabat was next on the list, according to Sport.es.
The Catalan club does not want to pay more than 25 million euros for the Moroccan international, even though he is being courted by several top European teams. The club’s advantage is that the Moroccan player really wants to play for Barça and Fiorentina has promised to let him leave this summer. Negotiations are ongoing and Barça hopes to reach a financially advantageous agreement.
For its part, Fiorentina wants to take advantage of the situation and refers to offers from the Premier League, but Barça does not want to spend more than Amrabat’s market value (25 million euros according to Transfermarkt). The player could be the key for Barça to succeed in recruiting a player who Xavi likes a lot.
