Ballon d’Or Controversy: Father’s Fury Ignites Soccer Star Feud

Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Lamine Yamal, did not take his son’s defeat against Ousmane Dembélé in the Ballon d’Or vote well.
After the announcement of the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or, Ousmane Dembélé, Mounir Nasraoui hastened to declare to the Spanish press that his son Lamine Yamal will win this trophy next year. "Next year, it’s our turn," he said as he left the gala, before adding: "Something very strange happened here."
Later, the father of the Spanish striker expressed his disappointment at not seeing his son leave with the Ballon d’Or. "I think it’s the biggest... I won’t say theft, but moral prejudice to a human being," he said during a video call with El Chiringuito.
Mounir Nasraoui insists: "I think Lamine Yamal is by far the best player in the world, and by a long way. Not because he’s my son, but because he’s the best player in the world, I think he has no rival," reaffirming that his son will win the Ballon d’Or next year.
