AI-Backed Signing: Sevilla’s Idrissi Matches Mbappé in Data-Driven Recruitment

Did you know that it was artificial intelligence that pushed Sevilla FC to recruit Moroccan international Oussama Idrissi? Despite some setbacks with the Andalusian club, the figures continue to speak and place him on par with Kylian Mbappé.
Artificial intelligence (AI) proves to be a tool of choice for collecting and analyzing data and statistics, thus guiding clubs in their recruitment choices. This is precisely what happened in 2020 when the Seville club, supported by an AI, recruited Oussama Idrissi from AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, reports La Sexta.
Despite a loan spell at Cadiz and Ajax, Idrissi was not in the plans of Seville’s former coach, Julen Lopetegui. He thus returned to the Netherlands to play with Feyenoord last season. This season, the Moroccan is ambitious to find his place in Mendilibar’s team and will start the pre-season with Seville. The AI, which has never stopped following the player, continues to bet on his performance.
The AI has even highlighted an interesting statistic, explains the same source: Idrissi is on par with Kylian Mbappé for the number of goal-scoring opportunities created. As a left winger, Idrissi would be one of the most dangerous players in Europe. Information that could give him a new opportunity at Seville, where the lack of goals was a real problem during the last Liga season.
