EU Authorities Intercept Moroccan Avocados with Banned Pesticide Residue

The Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA) denounces the entry into the EU market of Moroccan avocados containing a harmful phytosanitary substance, and therefore prohibited.
"The Dutch authorities [...] have intercepted a sample of Moroccan avocados containing a phytosanitary substance at a rate of 0.29 milligrams/kilo, while the maximum residue limit (MRL) is set at a minimum of 0.01 mg/kg detectable in the laboratory. These avocados were destined for the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Austria," the agricultural organization denounced in a press release.
