Audi Tests Electric Dakar Racer with Carlos Sainz in Morocco

The three-time Madrid champion, Carlos Sainz, and his co-driver, Lucas Cruz, are the winning duo on which the German brand Audi is counting to win the desert race that will take place in Dakar in 2022. The shock team will be aboard the RS Q e-tron, an electric off-road vehicle that will make its baptism of fire on this occasion. Dakar 2022 will take place entirely in Saudi Arabia like the previous two editions. The race will start on January 2 in Hail and will have its epilogue on January 14 in Jeddah. Peterhansel, the 2021 champion, is defending his title with Audi. Nasser Al Attiyah, loyal to his Toyota vehicle, remains the favorite for this edition, the same source believes.
