"Asterix and Obelix" Film Shifts Production to Morocco After Weather Delays in France

Part of the filming of the film "Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire" will start next July in Morocco after a shortened stay on the Guéry plateau (Puy-de-Dôme), due to weather conditions unsuitable for film shooting.
The final stage of the filming of the film "Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire" will be launched in July in Morocco, according to the shooting schedule of the feature film, which will be released in the last semester of 2022.
The production team announced in the night from Wednesday to Thursday that it is cutting short its stay by two days due to the stormy weather this week that makes filming impossible. However, the executive producer assures that the work is 85% complete.
Sharing the information and some filming photos on his information and communication channels, the director, Guillaume Canet, said he was satisfied with the warm welcome before paying tribute, through a photo and a few lines, to "all the extras who have been so patient and generous," he specified.
After the eighth week of work, the filming crew is thus heading this Thursday to Bry-sur-Marne or Brétigny-sur-Orge. "It’s nice this Thursday morning, but the afternoon looks tricky and Friday too. We decided not to tinker with weather problems. We’ve shot a lot of things, it’s very good, it’s very beautiful. But we can possibly finish the rest in the Paris region," added the executive producer Xavier Amblard, according to the same source.
Filming will resume on Monday, June 7, in the direction of Bry-sur-Marne or Brétigny-sur-Orge before the final clap in Moroccan territory.
