According to this ranking which offers "a unique analytical presentation of data from 145 modern military powers" in terms of capabilities and equipment to wage wars on land, at sea and in the air by conventional means, Morocco surpasses Spain in terms of troops.
The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have 200,000 active soldiers and nearly 150,000 reservists, compared to 140,000 soldiers, including 120,000 active and 15,000 reservists for the Spanish army, according to data from the annual Global Firepower Index (GFP).

The ranking was based on criteria such as manpower, equipment, natural resources, finance and geography, which provides "an interesting overview of an increasingly volatile global landscape in which war seems almost inevitable".
