Anderlecht Demotes Midfielder Aït El Hadj After Refusing to Play for U23 Team

The Belgian player of Moroccan origin Anouar Ait El Hadj, playing for Sporting Anderlecht, is no longer in the good graces of the club’s management. He was sanctioned last weekend, after a behavioral incident. He now plays in the club’s B team.
Little used since last season by coach Felice Mazzù, the Brussels native was invited to play with the U23 team in the Challenger Pro League on Sunday. The problem is that the player refused, expressing his desire to leave the club, reports la Dernière Heure.
This failure did not please the Sporting management, which decided to send him back to the B team for the time being. "The management and the staff attach great importance to the performances of the second team," Mazzù said, adding that "playing with the U23s is anything but a punishment."
Pushed towards the exit, Aït El Hadj is considering relaunching himself in another club, but Anderlecht has not received any offers. This explains his presence in the squad. It should be noted that two years ago, the 20-year-old prodigy had a remarkable season, with 25 shots and 4 goals.
