Genk Signs Belgian-Moroccan Midfielder Anouar Aït El Hadj from Anderlecht

The Belgian-Moroccan Anouar Aït El Hadj will continue the season at Genk, with whom he has finally reached an agreement. A four-year contract was signed on Wednesday.
Pushed towards the exit at Anderlecht, the 20-year-old midfielder has found another club to relaunch himself. And it is with the big rival, Genk, that he has landed, after ten years spent at the purple club. The two clubs announced the signing of a contract, but the transfer amount has not been revealed, reports Belga.
In the first team at Anderlecht since 2019, the young player had exploded during the 2020-2021 season, during which he had been nominated for the title of Young Player of the Year. Ait El Hadj had moved away from the club’s first team, which had even put him back in the B squad at the start of this season.
Thanks to this transfer, Genk, a solid leader in the championship, will be able to strengthen its midfield to consolidate its position in the standings. "Anouar fits perfectly into the KRC Genk philosophy and personifies the attractive football we want to bring here," said coach Wouter Vrancken.
"I think the best choice for me now is to take on a new challenge in a different environment," Anouar Ait El Hadj reacted in a RSCA statement.
