American Mayo Clinic to Build 700-Bed Hospital in Morocco’s Kenitra Region

An American medical organization and its partners have decided to build the first American hospital in Morocco, more precisely in Mehdya in the Kenitra region.
It is an establishment with a capacity of 700 beds and which will generate around 5,200 direct jobs. It is in this framework that the American medical organization "Mayo Clinic" and the International Investment Group "IIG Group" carried out a visit to the Ibn Rochd hospital in Casablanca and the Higher Institute of Health Sciences in Settat. A visit during which Barakat Ali AlShanableh, CEO of IIG (International Investment Group), announced the news.
"The generous Royal invitation to foreign investors in the health sector and the favorable climate that Morocco possesses have encouraged us to invest in the project to build the first American hospital in the city of Mehdya," he said. It is a large-scale project as there will also be "an American medical university with a capacity of 2,000 students, 25% of the places being reserved free of charge for Moroccan students who have excelled academically and who come from low-income families," he added.
Founded 150 years ago, the "Mayo Clinic" organization was ranked number 1 by the specialized magazine Newsweek for the year 2022. It has been number 1 for seven years according to the U.S NEWS magazine ranking, as the best hospital in the United States of America.
