Morocco Absent from Global Top 250 Hospitals Ranking, Newsweek Reports

No Moroccan hospital is among the top 250 best healthcare facilities in the world. This is the result of a ranking by a general news magazine.
Newsweek has published its ranking of the 250 best hospitals in the world for 2022, established in collaboration with the Statista institute. The American weekly has defined several criteria: survey of satisfaction of hospitalized patients, recommendations from healthcare professionals and quality performance such as hygiene measures, quality of care for specific treatments or the number of patients per doctor or nurse to compile this ranking.
No Moroccan hospital is on the list. Only two hospitals in Arab countries are ranked among the world’s best hospitals. These are the Saudi hospital King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (126th) and the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (129th). The American hospitals Mayo Clinic (1st), in Rochester, the Cleveland Clinic (2nd) and the Massachusetts General Hospital (3rd), are the three best global institutions.
In the top 20, we find several European hospitals, such as the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois in Switzerland, or Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany, and Asian hospitals, such as The University of Tokyo Hospital in Japan or Singapore General Hospital. As for the Israeli hospital Sheba Medical Center, it ranks 10th.
