Alstom Expands Morocco Operations with $10.5 Million Investment in Fez Plant

Already established in Fez, the Alstom company has announced new investments, with the creation of a new production line, which will be operational in early 2023.
With a total cost of around 109.95 million dirhams (10.5 million euros), this project will be carried out on nearly 13,000 m² of space, a press release from the management states. This "will confirm its willingness to participate in the economic emergence of this historic city," the note added.
Ultimately, the Fez plant will have a production capacity of 200 transformers per year, which will be produced and industrialized by the Petit-Quevilly site. This center will have to proceed with the transfer of skills, Alstom assured.
For Nourddine Rhalmi, CEO of Alstom Morocco, "this new investment is proof of the group’s determination to strengthen ties with the Kingdom and develop industrial activity in the country. We have been present in Morocco for a century and we will continue to contribute to the development of rail infrastructure for many more years."
