Alstom to Deliver 80 New Tramways for Casablanca’s Expanding Network

The French company Alstom, through its Spanish branch, will supply 80 tramways to Morocco by the end of 2024. This order is part of the extension of lines 3 and 4 of the Casablanca tramway.
The contract, worth 150 million euros, was signed in 2020, with the aim of expanding the Casablanca tramway network, which currently has two lines.
According to internal sources cited by EFE, Alstom will soon begin delivering 26 of these tramways to Morocco, according to an announcement made during the visit of a Moroccan delegation to the Alstom plant in Barcelona.
For more than ten years, Alstom has been involved in various projects in Morocco, particularly by providing railway vehicles. In 2011, the company had already delivered 190 Citadis model tramways, used in the cities of Rabat (66 cars) and Casablanca (124 cars).
