New Alsa Buses to Modernize Rabat-Salé-Témara Public Transport Before School Year
The arrival of the new Alsa buses for the Rabat-Salé-Témara agglomeration will be effective before the next school year. This is what Abdellatif Soudou, vice-president of the urban municipality of Rabat-Salé, said.
The arrival of the new Alsa buses is imminent. In a post on his Facebook page, Abdellatif Soudou, vice-president of the urban municipality of Rabat-Salé, informs the public about this. According to him, "some buses can even be launched before Eid al-Adha, if everything is settled".
The City Bus (Morocco) - Alsa (Spain) grouping manages the bus network in Rabat-Salé-Témara on behalf of the intercommunal cooperation establishment, Al Assima.
According to the same source, the duration of the contract signed between the indicated structure and the Grouping is now increasing from 15 to 22 years, i.e. seven additional years. In total, this contract is a source of the creation of 1,600 jobs.
The intercommunal cooperation establishment, Al Assima, had chosen the City Bus (Morocco) - Alsa (Spain) grouping to manage the bus network in Rabat-Salé-Témara. It consists of 61 lines, spread over more than 1,136 km.
The contract signed with the Grouping, with an initial duration of 15 years, extended for seven additional years, is therefore 22 years. It involves the creation of 1,600 jobs.
According to the terms of the contract, Alsa and City bus must acquire 100 new buses each year, to reach 650 at the end of the third year.
