Moroccan Youths Jailed for Social Media Call to Vandalize Rabat Buses

Three young people from Salé were sentenced last Thursday to eight months in prison for calling on social networks to damage the new buses in the capital, operated by the Alsa company, by tagging "Salé", the name of the city, instead of "Rabat".
The sanction against these young taggers was announced on Sunday, September 29, by Abdellatif Soudou, Vice-President of the Urban Commune of Salé, on his Facebook account.
He welcomed this decision, which comes less than a month after the conviction of an individual to three years in prison for breaking the window of a bus.
The three young people from Salé sentenced to eight months in prison had been arrested for "threatening to commit crimes". Indeed, they had protested against the inscription of the mention "Rabat Bus" on the new vehicles of the Rabat-Salé-Témara agglomeration.
