To streamline summer departures, Almería port is deploying 1.6 million euros. The arrival of a new shipping company to Nador comes with close diplomatic coordination to optimize this massive flow of travelers to Morocco.
Having become Europe’s second hub behind Algeciras in terms of passengers, the Andalusian port is stepping up its game. The president of Almería Port Authority (APA), Rosario Soto, detailed a budget envelope of 1.6 million euros dedicated to improving access, infrastructure and staffing. This financial effort aims to guarantee much more agile embarkations, a dynamic accelerated by the integration of Africa Morocco Link (AML). The arrival of this new operator now brings to four the number of companies directly serving the city of Nador, considerably strengthening maritime supply.

This logistical scaling relies on very strong collaboration with diplomatic and associative representations. Soumia Fathi, consul general in Almería, inaugurated on June 15 a decentralized office on the docks to provide direct administrative assistance to travelers. On the humanitarian front, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity is also fully operational on site. Under the direction of Colonel Latifa Karbal, medical and social teams are mobilized to support users and instantly resolve any transit incident.
