Algerian Press Agency Accused of Spreading False Information About Moroccan Officials

Algeria is under fire for the dissemination by its press agency of false information according to which Moroccan security officials are the subject of international arrest warrants.
"What the Algerian press agency published about high-ranking Moroccan security officials at Interpol is not out of the framework of the Algerian media blunders that the Algerian regime commits every time," said Lahcen Aqartit, a university professor and researcher in international relations, to the site Al Ayyam 24. According to his explanations, Algeria is investing in the policy of hostility it nurtures towards the kingdom. In the eyes of the political analyst, what was published about Morocco is "a serious media error".
It is clear that "Algeria wants to tarnish the reputation of the Kingdom of Morocco on the international scene, but everyone knows that the Algerian media are bankrupt, and the proof is the lying and falsified reports that are published," added Lahcen Aqartit, noting that Algiers is failing in this maneuver. To support his argument, he argues that "all continental and international countries speak of the good reputation of Moroccan security institutions, as well as the behavior and rigor of security elements". According to the academic, it is time for the Algerian military regime to understand "that the security partnerships established by the Kingdom with European countries go back to this base," that is to say the reputation of the kingdom.
"The hosting by Morocco of the (93rd session of the general assembly, editor’s note) Interpol summit in Marrakech next year is clear evidence of the integrity of the Moroccan security apparatus, and the Moroccan institutions operate under the rule of law, so the reputation of Morocco remains commendable on the international scene," continued the political analyst.
