Algerian Party Leader Questioned After Moroccan Worker Found Dead in Home

An Algerian diplomat, president of the party allied to the FLN, the Rally for Culture and Democracy, found himself in the middle of a suspicious case. The body of a Moroccan national was found dead, at the beginning of the week, inside his home.
According to Algerian television, the victim, a Moroccan worker in his forties, was doing plastering work on a construction site intended for the housing of Mohsine Belabbas.
For the Algerian Public Prosecutor’s Office, "the summons by the National Gendarmerie comes within the framework of the judicial investigation conducted on the undeclared death of a foreign national at the private home of Mohsine Belabbas".
The first elements of the investigation reveal that the victim did not have the necessary authorizations to work in Algeria, the Prosecutor’s statement points out, specifying that pending the appearance of new elements, the judicial investigation is ongoing.
