Algerian Migrant Deported to Morocco After False Identity Claim in Germany

An Algerian national, residing illegally in Germany, was expelled to Morocco on Monday, March 10, after declaring to the German authorities that he was of Moroccan nationality. The man had apparently tried to avoid expulsion to Algeria.
The individual was apprehended by the German authorities. At the time of his arrest, he would have presented identity documents suggesting that he was a Moroccan citizen. Based on this information, the German authorities proceeded with his expulsion to Marrakech-Menara airport.
Upon arrival, the security services of the Marrakech-Menara airport carried out the usual identity checks. By consulting the national databases, they found that the identity presented did not match that of the individual. It was then established that he was an Algerian citizen.
The man was detained at the Marrakech-Menara airport, and the competent Moroccan authorities were seized of the situation to take the appropriate measures.
