Algerian Fugitive Wanted for 2020 Marseille Highway Murder Arrested in Morocco

Monday 15 November 2021, by Armel

According to Moroccan police sources, the suspect is wanted for his involvement in a homicide case dating back to August 2020 in Marseille. He is also the subject of an Interpol red notice issued by the French judicial authorities.

According to the Marseille prosecutor Dominique Laurens, the individual would have ordered a shooting that cost the life of a young man on the A7 motorway, north of Marseille, precisely between the exit of the Nord Hospital and that of the Arnavaux housing project, reported the newspaper La Provence at the time.

His brother who accompanied him was seriously injured. A settling of scores related to drug trafficking would be the origin, specifies the newspaper.

For now, the accused is being held by the DGSN, pending his possible extradition to France.
