Algerian Family Hosts Stranded Moroccans for Ramadan Meal Amid Diplomatic Tensions

An Oran family invited Moroccans to the Iftar meal during the month of Ramadan. The scene was immortalized by the Algerian television channel. Propaganda?
These Moroccans and the Oran family discussed the bonds of friendship between the Moroccan and Algerian peoples. They shared this Iftar meal the day after the diplomatic incident in Oran, specifies ENTV.
This report was broadcast a few days after the online release of a video that went viral. The Moroccan consul in Oran would have described Algeria as an "enemy country", which had sparked lively controversy. In the wake of this, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, had summoned, on Wednesday, May 13, the Moroccan ambassador to Algiers, Hassan Abdelkhalek.
"The video you are referring to has been tampered with to make our diplomat utter words he never uttered. In any case, it is not the content of the same video that was transmitted to us on Monday, May 11," said an authorized source at the Moroccan embassy to Le360.
On Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Algerian counterpart, Sabri Boukadoum, discussed the diplomatic incident in Oran during a telephone conversation. The two officials agreed that "this kind of affair is not settled on social networks, but between duly mandated officials to do so," reports the same source.
