Moroccan Repatriates from Algeria Complete Quarantine After Diplomatic Tensions

The first group of 300 Moroccans repatriated from Algeria and placed in isolation has left the Saïdia tourist establishments.
These first 300 Moroccans repatriated from Algeria arrived at Oujda-Angad airport on May 30, on board three Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flights. Before this repatriation operation, a diplomatic incident occurred in May in Oran.
In a video, the Moroccan consul in Oran, Aherdane Boudaher, would have described Algeria as an "enemy country" during a meeting with members of the Moroccan community who had come to protest against Rabat’s refusal to repatriate them, reported TSA-Algérie. "We are in an enemy country; I tell you frankly," the Moroccan ambassador to Algiers would have said to dissuade them.
In the wake of this, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, had summoned the Moroccan ambassador to Algiers on Wednesday, May 13. Algeria would have asked Morocco to recall its consul in Oran. On Friday, May 15, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita and his Algerian counterpart, had discussed the diplomatic incident in Oran by telephone.
The sequel? Morocco recalled its consul in Oran. He returned to the country during the repatriation operation of the second group of Moroccans stranded in Algeria.
