Algeria Stuns Morocco in U17 Arab Cup Final After Late Equalizer and Penalty Shootout
What was supposed to be a football celebration turned into a giant brawl after the end of the match that pitted the Algerian (U17) team against the Moroccan team in the Arab Cup for under-17s.
Despite a few mistakes that we will attribute to their youth, the Moroccans played a very good match yesterday, Thursday, September 8, in the final of the Arab Cup for under-17s. It took until the 51st minute with Rachidi’s goal. Morocco, euphoric, leads 1-0 and already dreams of the trophy. This score will remain unchanged until the 90th minute, just seconds before the end of the match, before Algeria equalizes through Chehima. The penalty shootout goes in favor of the Algerians who only missed one while the Moroccans miss the net twice.
Unfortunately, the celebration was spoiled by an assault on the Moroccan goalkeeper by several Algerian players. A general brawl then breaks out for several minutes without the Algerian law enforcement services, however very numerous, intervening. It took about fifteen minutes for calm to return and the trophy to be awarded to the winner of the day.
