Algeria Coach Belmadi Hints at Desire for Morocco Showdown Amid Egypt Friendly

Speaking about the friendly match between Algeria and Egypt that will take place this October, Djamel Belmadi, the coach of the Fennecs, mentions Morocco.
"The match against Egypt. We’ve played against everyone, whether in official or friendly matches. It was the only team missing from the top 10 in Africa. Morocco, that’s something else. It’s been at least three or four attempts at a match. It would be a quality derby to benefit from," said Djamel Belmadi at a press conference. The derby between the Atlas Lions and the Fennecs is always eagerly awaited. The last major confrontation between the two national teams that took place in 2011 is historic. Morocco had beaten Algeria 4-0. During the 2021 Arab Cup, the match between the two countries ended in a penalty shootout victory for the Fennecs over the Atlas Lions (1-1, 3-4). Over the years, Morocco and Algeria have become great football nations.
"In addition to individual and collective quality, Egypt is always there in major events. It’s a great opponent waiting for us. We’ve played against the whole top 10, now there’s this match, we’ll be facing a good opposition," the Fennecs coach also continued.
