Akdital Holding to Build 200-Bed Hospital Complex in Agadir for $20 Million

The search for solutions to the deficit in health care services in remote areas and in places where demand is high has prompted the state to open the capital of private clinics to non-physicians. It is in this context that the Akdital Holding group has just announced the launch of a major health project in Agadir, for an investment of 200 million dirhams.
The group plans to equip the region with a private hospital complex of more than 200 beds with a multidisciplinary hospital and a large oncology center that will open in the first quarter of 2022. This is a project that "will be financed 50% by equity and 50% by bank credit already realized with a local bank". This project comes to solve the problem of "acute lack of specialties and the ever-increasing demand for health needs," reports ecoactu.ma, which points out that the group is not new to investment in hospital construction.
It has already launched 4 clinics, namely the Ain Borja clinic in 2018, the Casablanca International Oncology Center in 2019, the Longchamps clinic in 2019 and the Casablanca Ain Sbaâ private hospital in 2019. A sixth establishment will open in El Jadida in April 2021 as well as a private hospital in Tangier scheduled for late 2021-early 2022. "There is a very strong demand at the regional level, whose inhabitants are forced to go to Marrakech due to a weak health offer. This is what motivated us to equip the region with internationally standardized care facilities with all the specialties. During his last visit to Agadir, King Mohammed VI gave a boost to investment at the regional level. This is also what encouraged our choice," said the CEO of the group, Dr. Rochdi Talib.
As for the medical staff, the group plans to sign an agreement with the local Medical Association to bring in the necessary skills to strengthen the health offer in the region. "The project is finalized, the investment is committed and the model is ready. The group is just waiting for the authorizations to concretize the acquisition of the land," specifies the same source.
